I’ve never been to a trick or treat event when I was a kid, so it’s a bit strange that I get to do my first one at 25! Never too old to be young eh? :) On my first day back to work from my KK trip, I immediately had to head the event for the kids at the Women’s Shelter. I could not say no because I’ve been wanting to see them again for the longest time, and I wanted to have a post birthday celebration together. Two birds with one stone! *happy happy joy joy*
Here we are before we went around the mall to ask for treats. (Yes, I’m the one with red wings. I wasn’t sure if I was a butterfly or an alitaptap. Lol.)

Let me just say that one of the things I love about working for my office is that I get to do beautiful things like this. It’s a plus that my boss is into giving back so I get to participate too. He’s the one holding the scary white tongue out mask.

Finally, candies! We provided the masks and loot bags for the kids just so they get to experience the real thing. Thank you to the participating stores! Here we have KFC, Kamiseta, and National Bookstore.

Halfway through, we bumped into the cool guys from BLAST MC, who gave away candies and rode their big bikes around the city with their scary masks on! Must’ve been a shock for everyone in Tacloban! :)

I love spending time with these kids because they make me happy. I don’t know how they do it, but every time I am with them, I feel all giddy inside. They don’t ask questions and no judgments. Just me, “Ate Chikay” spending time with them. It’s amazing and heart warming too. (Sorry I look super haggard in this photo. I had jet lag! Chos.)

We ate in Jollibee after going around and I bought them a pink cake as a way of celebrating my birthday with them. The cake says “Thank You” simply because they have taught me so much. About life, appreciating the things that I have, my family, and the blessings I receive. They may not see it that way, but that’s how I feel. Thankful. :)

I’d like to thank Ms. Sweet of Robinson’s Place for accommodating the children and letting us participate in this event. More power to you po!

And to the CSWDO staff, Ms. Carmela, BLAST MC, Kuya Roy, Kuya Jun, and Kuya Neil, and Atty. Tec, thank you for making me a part of this! :)
When the night sky is lit up by fireworks, I can’t help but feel like a little kid again. :)
Craving for some good ol’ Rosquillos! :)
It’s a Filipino delicacy/snack from Cebu which is circular in shape with flower-ish edges and a hole in the middle. It’s like a cookie met a donut and decided to make a kid together. Lol. :p
This is how I usually eat it. Yeah, some part of me hasn’t grown up yet. :))
