To say that I have been swamped with work this month is an understatement. However, since I’m the type who looks at the silver lining of every dilemma that I’m in, I decided to visit one of the tourist spots in Tacloban, which happens to be right outside of my office! *happy happy joy joy*
Welcome to the Madonna of Japan! Or otherwise known as the Maria Kannon Peace Shrine. I never realized the significance of this place until a group of Japanese priests visited the Mayor and prayed here last January.
The garden is built around the miyagi rock sculpture by Japanese artist Shinichi Tani, and symbolizes the friendship between the Philippines and Japan. I love that it is in Tacloban! I’m a lucky girl. ^_^
Too bad though that it’s summer and the leaves aren’t as green as they usually are so the place looked a bit dry. But nonetheless, it has a calming effect on everyone who visits and it is never crowded so you get to take as many photos as you want. (Do what we did and take self timer jump shots. Haha!)
